Micro Fibril Synthetic Fiber Reinforcement

Micro Fibril synthetic fibers are used in any concrete application to provide plastic shrinkage and plastic settlement crack reduction, thereby enabling concrete to be more durable and more resilience over the entire span of service life. Moreover, its special fibrillated web structure provides additional toughness to concrete for light load applications.

Usage Instructions and Mixing

Depending on the project requirements, dosages vary between 0.5 pcy and 1.5 pcy. Homogeneous mixture is obtained by addition of fibers to central mixer at concrete batching plant or by mixing in a concrete mixer truck at high speed for at least 5 minutes.

Technical Advantages

  • Formulated to address early age cracking problems, by helping prevent the propagation of cracks in the plastic state – precisely when most cracks occur. During the plastic settlement phase, micro fibers create a three-dimensional support network that resists the downward pull of gravity, thus keeping wet concrete matrix in suspension and promoting uniform bleeding. This fiber network improves the tensile strain capacity of concrete during the plastic shrinkage phase so plastic shrinkage cracks are greatly eliminated.
  • Mitigates overall shrinkage/temperature related cracks.
  • 100% alkali resistant. Non-corrosive. No chemical reaction.
  • Long term resistance to deterioration when in contact with moisture and alkalis present in cement paste or the substances present in air-entraining and chemical admixtures.
  • Increases durability and service life of concrete.
  • Lowers freeze/thaw damage and mitigate permeability of water and chemicals into concrete thanks to more robust concrete matrix by reducing plastic shrinkage cracks in the very beginning.
  • Used in shotcrete applications to reduce rebound greatly and save material.

Application and Cost Advantages

  • Does not damage construction equipment.
  • Less early age cracks leads to more durable concrete leads to less maintenance cost over the years.
  • Overall system cost is lower as concrete has better durability and longer useful service life.

Compliance with Industry Standards and Services

  • Conforming ASTM C1116 Type III, ASTM D7508, EN 14889-2 Type I.
  • Produced in ISO certified facilities.
